Mars Wrigley Headquarters

Retrofitting a New Jersey warehouse to host the chocolate giant's headquarters

Project Description:

The Mars Wrigley brand is a staple of New Jersey’s history. In 2017 the chocolate giant announced plans to host its corporate headquarters in existing offices in Hackettstown and an additional building in Newark.

How DJM Helped:

To build out its Newark base, the company renovated a former warehouse. The project’s executive team brought DJM in to coordinate the renovation of the building’s ductwork.

Previous to DJM, coordination was attempted without accurate as-built documentation. This caused a slight hiccup in the preconstruction process when it was discovered that the proposed design’s measurements conflicted with the building’s structure. DJM advised a 3D scan to be conducted to update the documentation and inform the design process with correct measurements. This easily resolved design conflicts. With the correct documentation, designing and coordinating the new ductwork was a smooth process. The measurements provided by the scan prevented costly errors and saved thousands in wasted man hours and materials.
